What is it like to be an adviser?
'It is really great to get the chance to help people one on one, and you can see immediately that your actions and advice can have a positive effect on people's lives. A lot of independence is given to the volunteers, which I think makes the project unique. As an advisor, you have responsibility for giving the right advice to clients, which can be daunting, but there is great satisfaction when you help on a particular issue. You get the chance to meet lots of people from all walks of life, and the whole experience is informative but fun!'
What do I think about the project?
'This project has been a fantastic opportunity to work within the community, and gain real experience helping people on a range of legal issues. The team who run the centre are very friendly, and so committed to their work that it is a pleasure to work alongside them. You get a chance to be involved from day one, and take on responsibility immediately. This is a really good project if you want to pursue a career in law, but it's also really fun so would be great for anyone!'
